Contract Value | $5.3m |
Discipline | Asbestos, Demolition and Civil |
Description of Works | High profile demolition of a 9-storey building in the heart of Adelaide, on the former Royal Adelaide Hospital site. Multiple structural systems due to a number of additions over the years led to a complex, multi-disciplined demolition requirement. Adding to the complexity of the demolition was the boundary to boundary nature of the building, closely adjoining 3 roads and a neighbouring building. |
Project | Craig Gilbert Bridge for Northern Connector |
Division | Royal Park Salvage |
Client | Lend Lease Engineering |
Contract Value | $500k |
Discipline | Demolition |
Description of Works | Demolition of the 14-year-old bridge over the Port River Expressway for the new Northern Connector. Demolition of the bridge deck required a complete shutdown of the expressway and a continuous shift from 7pm Friday to 5am Monday. A rubble pad was laid to protect the existing highway as excavators with a combination of attachments demolished the bridge to rubble. Abutments & remaining structure were removed over following weekends without the need to close the highway. |
